11 November - Hike at Fort McHenry, Baltimore at the Visitors Center at 10 AM
What better way to honor our Veterans than a trip to Fort’s McHenry on Veterans’
Day? Join your fellow club members as we start with the exhibits found in the Visitors Center. These exhibits provide a wealth of overviews of the forts importance, along with an opportunity to learn about the people who lived, worked and fought here. We then walk outdoors to connect the Star Fort to the surrounding landscape and its past defenders. As we walk through the fort, we will learn about 1814 soldier life, the bombardment of Fort’s McHenry, along with other interesting times in the forts history such as its hospitals and taverns. Afterwards, everyone is on their own to explore more of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor with lunch at its many restaurants.
Entrance Fee: $15.00 per person or National Parks Pass.
Directions: The park is three miles southeast of the Baltimore Inner Harbor and just off I-95. Follow the brown Fort McHenry directional signs along all major routes to the park.
