September 24th - DeJon Vineyard in Hydes

The Club is organizing two visits to Maryland wineries in September for tastings and evenings of live music. We will visit Basignani Vineyards in Sparks, Baltimore County, on Saturday, September 3rd. Three weeks later, on Saturday, September 24th, Club members will travel to the DeJon Winery in Hydes, also in Baltimore County. Both wineries charge a $10 admission for wine tastings and an evening of music. Basignani urges attendees to purchase tickets online, but they may be bought at the winery if space is available. DeJon charges $10 upon arrival at the Vineyard. Attendees may bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks. There is a small food concession at DeJon. For Basignani, pizza can be ordered online when buying the admission tickets. It may also be available at the winery if supplies last. It is advised to bring folding chairs to each location. A limited number of tables are available on a first come basis, Basignani Winery is located at 15722 Falls Rd in Sparks. On Saturday, September 3rd, we plan to arrive by midafternoon for a tasting of the vineyard’s wines, followed by an evening of live music from 6 to 9 PM. The band performing that evening is called “Off the Ladder”, which plays rock oldies. Dejon Vineyard is located at 5300 Hydes Rd in Hydes Md. DeJon is less than a mile from Boordy Vineyards, which the Club visited in July. On September 24th the band “Code Red” will perform classic rock from the 70’s and 80’s, also from 6 to 9 PM. This band drew rave reviews from club members after their show at Lurman Woodland Theater in mid-August.
